A perfectly smooth IPA, straddling the line between dark and light, bitter and sweet. Coming in with only 50 IBU and an abv of 6%, this english IPA is seriously easy drinking. Its citrus aroma is surprisingly strong, and on first taste it is very malt forward. It is followed with a soft, almost caramel finish.
With the increased popularity in huge, dry hopped, west coast or new england style IPAs, it is nice to see this beer go in the opposite direction. The real benefit to these smooth english IPA's (when done well), is their ability to pair well with food. Next time you have a Lady Friend IPA, try enjoying it with something spicy!
